FI(H) - Flight Instructor Rating (Helicopter)
General information
Training for the flight instructor FI(H) is the next step in your career as a helicopter pilot. Having previously gained experience, you can now share it with your students.
FI(H) Theory
THEORETICAL TRAINING TAKES 125 HOURS OF STUDY.
The course focuses primarily on a thorough discussion of the principles and methodology of the teaching as well as the learning process. It teaches future flight instructors proper assessment and focuses on shaping them in the correct customs and habits.
The theoretical training includes 125 hours of lectures, seminars and exercises in subjects such as:
– learning process
– teaching process
– training philosophies
– applied training techniques
– student assessments and examination
– development of the training program
– human capabilities and limitations related to flight training
– training administration
FI(H) Practice
We conduct practical training on exactly the same helicopters used in OSL AZL for training young aviation adepts. The future instructor sits in the actual instructor’s seat from the very beginning, and his “student” is an experienced instructor who is authorized to train other instructors.
FI(H) Requirements
A control flight before commencing theoretical training
Flight hours built up to min. 250h, including 100h as a PIC for CPL(H) holders or 200h for PPL(H) holders
CPL(H) license (in the case of a PPL(H) license only, its holder must meet the theoretical knowledge requirements for a CPL(H) license
Age:
At least 18 years of age
Aero-medical certificates:
A Class 1
